EDDIE LEE, CREATIVE DIRECTOR, PRESIDENT OF SAN FRANCISCO OFFICE

Square Two Design founder, Eddie Lee, combines experience in marketing with a deep understanding of corporate identity requirements. Before founding Square Two Design in 1991, Eddie spent four years as Design Director at NeXT Computer, where he oversaw the development and implementation of the company’s corporate identity from its inception. Eddie has also worked as a graphic designer at Digital Equipment Corporation. Eddie’s ability to quickly identify clients’ needs and clarify their own aesthetic sense has allowed him to successfully help companies such as Intel, IBM, Inktomi, Adobe, Roxio, Eloquent, and others to develop lasting corporate identity systems. His work has been honored by the Art Director’s Club of Boston, Print Annual, the New York Art Directors Club, Graphis Annual, and the American Institute of Graphic Arts.

MIN WANG, CREATIVE DIRECTOR, PRESIDENT OF BEIJING OFFICE

Min Wang draws on a unique combination of impeccable design aesthetic and strategic corporate savvy. Min joined Square Two Design in 1998 after serving as Design Manager at Adobe Systems, where for ten years he contributed to the full range of marketing programs. Before joining Adobe, he headed a successful graphic design studio in New Haven, Connecticut. He has been a visiting fellow in Germany at Akademe der Bildenden Kunste, Munich, and Hochschule der Kunste, Berlin, and has worked as a graphic designer in Basel, Switzerland. Since 1989, he has also been a lecturer in graphic design at Yale University. Min currently hosts the post of Dean of Design at the Central Academy of Fine Art in Beijing, one of the top design schools in China. Min’s work has been exhibited internationally in showcases such as the Biennian of Graphic Design, Brno, Czechoslovakia; Graphic Design Show, Beijing, China; Type Directors Club Exhibition, New York; Print Annual; and the International Poster Biennial, Lahti, Finland.

MICHAEL NICO, MANAGING DIRECTOR, UEDG

Mr. Nico brings over 20 years experience directing user experience research & design and globalization functions from product concept phase through global ship. Prior to founding UEDG, LLC, he was the Director of the User Experience Design Group for 3Com Corporation. Mr. Nico’s group supplied product concept development, user research, user interface design, and product globalization consulting for a wide array of productlines for five divisions. Prior to 3Com Corporation, Mr. Nico held senior management positions with FMC Corporation and UDLP Corporation. At FMC Corporation, Mr. Nico started and managed the MANPRINT initiative that combined and coordinated the areas of HCI (UI design), hardware human factors, and manpower assessment for large systems employed in and outside of the U.S. Mr. Nico holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from St. Louis University and Masters of Science (M.S.) from the University of New York in Psychology, Research Methodology, and Statistics

 

GARSON YU FOUNDER/CREATIVE DIRECTOR,  yU+co, HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA

Garson founded yU+co, a design company specializing in motion graphics for film and television. Since the company’s inception, Garson has collaborated with many filmmakers for his title design work including Steven Spielberg, Ang Lee, John Woo, Sydney Pollack, and Ridley and Tony Scott.

Garson has won numerous awards and honors for his title design and motion graphics work including a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Achievement in Title Design for Dora the Explorer and five other Emmy nominations, the New York Art Directors Club Award, three BDA Awards, Monitor Award, ID Magazine International Design Award, HOW Magazine International Design Award, AIGA Design Award and the Eyes and Ears of Europe Award. Garson is also a visiting lecturer for film title design at Carnegie Mellon University, USA, Cologne International Film School, Germany and Central Academy of Fine Arts School of Design, China. He is also a member of Alliance Graphique Internationale, Switzerland.
